Actually I missed it, so I flipped over and caught the replay on KFWD 52 at 6:30 mainly out of curiosity since I rarely watch it anymore. OMG, what a mess. After flinching every time I saw Steve McCauley's arm-waving and exaggerated inflections during the weather, I've concluded that the guy may know his stuff but he's getting even worse in his presentation. It's really disappointing.
But wait, there's more. Over the last part of sports guy Joe Trahan's report I heard another voice at equal volume. Back to Debbie and I still hear the other voice. It's the director, for crying out loud! You hear him telling her to stretch it, asking McCauley if he can do up to an additional 30 seconds (or not) for his end of the newscast blurb, and there were the usual scattered comments about which cameras to go to. All of this was happening while there was a developing story about a terrorist type who possibly had a bomb in a vehicle in east Fort Worth. Poor Debbie had to reiterate the sketchy details for a painful 90 seconds or so. This mess with the director went on non-stop for about the last four or five minutes of the newscast.
