Anymore Christmas music??

I have a question,
Why do we play Christmas music from Thanksgiving on,
but then stop on Christmas day?
Many people celebrate the 12 days of Christmas.
That started Sunday.
The engineer ,who`s in his 60s, says Christmas music was played
until New Years, night back in the day.
Any stations still playing it?
Maybe the better way to do it!

Not sure about that, but a Tim Hortons I was in this morning was still playing Christmas music: but it'll probably stop once someone shows up who knows how to run the Muzak system.

On the non-terrestrial scene, I noticed that all the Holiday Music genres in the channel 100's on XM disappeared the day after Christmas too. Music Choice (now only available on digital cable or C/KU satellite) still has Holiday Music through January 1st on their "Showcase" channel. As I write this, Dean Martin's Jingle Bells is playing.

This kind of jumps out of Providence radio a bit... but, did anyone else happen to notice that the two competing video satellite services both carry the competing audio satellite services respectfully now? DirecTV has XM, while DISH Network has Sirius. :)<P ID="signature">______________
