Anyone catch the blooper on Channel 10's 6pm news yesterday?

It was early in the newscast. Anchors Jennifer Johnson and Nikki Rudd were at the desk. They turned to meteorologist Jim Lytle for a pick preview. After the quick preview, Lytle said, "Nikki" meaning it was Nikki's turned to broadcast, but instead the camera went to Jennifer Johnson. There was a split screen showing Lytle and Johnson, and I guess Lytle realized he said the wrong anchor name and it showed on his face during the split screen while Jennifer was talking. His facial expression was saying, "Man I messed up the name" Just something I peeped and was very noticeable.

Not the worst thing I've ever heard of happening.

I was thinking the same thing. That's just a brainfart and/or a simple lack of communication. I think we've all seen much worse. When I saw "blooper" in the subject line, I was expecting to read about black holes in a package, talent dropping an F-bomb, cameras falling off tripods or some other kind of major catastrophe.

Well, I hardly see these things happen in the news. I know noone's perfect, but this was very obvious during a live broadcast.

I remember Nikki recently tossing to Jim for the weather and calling him Josh by mistake.

Ho-Hum

This is kids stuff. You guys need to see a Channel 7 newscast in Buffalo if you want a blooper reel.

To say that they're STILL having problems with their new automation would be an understatement.

Thursday night's 11 o'clock show, Don Alhart's mic was tangled down inside his belt or somewhere like that. So the beginning of the show you see and hear Alhart fumbling to get the mic untangled. They're not reading the first story; he and Ryan are talking about getting his mic untangled. It seemed to go on forever.

GOD **** it, THAT is funny! The cricket chirping in the background of the FOX cast is rather appropriately symbolic, wouldn't you agree?

I wonder who was yelling -- the producer, the director, or the floor manager.

That has to be one of the funniest things I've seen yet. ;D
I bet it was the night maintenance man yelling, who else would be there at 10 o'clock at night? Beside the anchors, it certainly wasn't any news staff since both stations don't have a staff to begin with.

From what I remember it's one of the crew or possibly the director...I recognize the voice but can't be sure of who it is. No wonder that place is a sinking ship... just a miserable place to work from what I hear. Any word on November ratings from anyone out there?

Oh My God!

What an embarassment to have something like that happen and then have it on the world-wide web for everyone to see.

especially for someone of Mo's credentials... That had to have been a real embarrassment, then to have it relived on the net... She has to be mortified with that one... Hey I've seen it happen before... No need to make a comment like that...

I heard it was the audio guy, which begs two questions:
1. Ummm...mic check?
2. Why the flip is the door between the control room and the studio open?

I agree that should NOT have happened to someone like Maureen McGuire but I find it amusing nonetheless. Wonder the crew and the guy who yelled faced any consequences...I did like the look on Lia Lando's face ;D

And bloopers do happen. If you go a few pages back on this board you'll find my story of witnessing a reporter on R News mis-pronoucing Utica. At least Ms. Johnson realized her mistake.
