Anyone dealt with freestreams.com?

We've been using streamgeeks.com for some time but they have been down for over a week. We're looking for a better company for our stream. Anyone dealt with Freestreams.com?

Never heard of them -- but honestly by visting their website I don't even see a listing of products offered or pricing.. Just a bunch of login options for current clients.

My question is what type of streaming are you looking for? something cheap? no frills? Many options exist out there. These are the guys I use for my streaming http://bellonline.co.uk/ their not as fansy as say streamguys, streamtheworld etc but they give me a solid stream with great customer service.

I have 65 streams that were dead over a week. Thank God we moved priority things to the Barix server some time ago.

Streamgeeks assets were that it provided an easy way to stream using shoutcast encoding. Simple and effective.

I stopped getting replies to my support queries over the weekend. Then today the message said terrible trouble in the header. This is either a way for them to get out of this or find a way to fix it. They blamed it on Go Daddy. It appears that Shoutcast offers a free server that ypu can place on a Go Daddy server if you wish.

I've used viastreaming for most of what I do. It's more DIY than most, but they are very, very reliable. Support is mainly via IM and things like that. I wouldn't call them a premium streaming service because they aren't really as accessable for direct support, but the reliablity and cost for us is a real winner.

In my opinion the best streaming company is: http://www.mainstreamnetwork.com

We are extremely pleased with them. If you call them for tech support, you get someone in the US that knows his stuff. Even if you call them after hours, they'll get back to you quickly.

As proof that they are the "real deal" they keep gobbling up other streaming companies and their tech support is always top notch.

They support all types of streams. joshzz

ps : here's our stream: http://www.mainstreamnetwork.com/listen/player.asp?station=wzfi-fm&

I have my own shoutcast server for the stations I work with, it just so happens that my day job is at a wireless ISP sitting on a 250mbps pipe to the world...

given sufficient bandwidth, shoutcast is cheap and easy to setup.

stephend2 do you stream AAC+ via your shoutcast server? Curious if you've found/use any open source/low cost flash players that support shoutcast & AAC+ ?

The other day, Freestreams posted the following statement briefly before it was taken down :

FreeStreams is FREE!

Plus, we pay YOU monthly recurring revenue!
Never Pay For Streaming Again!!

How in the world can you have a "FREE, No Obligation, No Cost Trial" to a service that "is FREE!" ????

This looks good. Does anyone have any info?

http://radioloyalty.com/

RadioLoyalty is a pretty solid platform. It does use IceCast which has it's own weirdisms, but overall RadioLoyalty seems legit.

If it included Sound Exchange royalties it would be a great deal. That is the killer cost. The hosting really isn't all that expensive if you know where to look.

I can not say enough good things about SecureNet Systems. I have never had an outage. No contract. Many packages to choose from. Very easy to make your fees back via preroll ad(s). Free iPhone & Android apps.

I highly recommend them.

We have been using Freestream on two of our stations for over a year. Sound quality is good and we have had no trouble with them that I know of. Give them a try, if it is free it cant hurt to try.

Second that!

We feed Viastream "up"stream with the SAM broadcaster, and our engineer even was able to extract artist and title from ENCO automation without the need of additional purchased software! They're reliable, easy to access for stats and where listeners are located, gave us PLENTY of time on "test streams" to get our system going, and do monthly billing with no contracts. Thus far, hands down, they've been wonderful. And yes, you will need to do "some" of your own work, but it REALLY saves the bucks. They also got our apps into the i-phone and google play locations without any problems. (there is a cost, but one-time.)

A positive vote for viastreaming from WION! (listen if you like from www.i1430.com and enjoy AM stereo)
