Anyone Else Having Issues w/DirecTV Saturday?

Watching Channel 15 in Phoenix Saturday through DirecTV the Oklahoma-Texas football game was constantly having audio break-up all throughout the game. No on-air announcement as to technical difficulties. Happened only when the game was on, not during commercials.

Same thing is now happening with the NASCAR broadcast on the same channel.

It is happening on all three DirecTV converters but when TV is connected to digital converter box the signal is fine.

As usual, DirecTV tech support doesn't have a clue.

Some people in the Valley were having problems with TNT this evening as well, trying to watch the Suns play their 500 mile away home game.

I think that was a TNT problem with their standard-def feed. They were showing color bars on Channel 26 (I heard the HD channel was OK, though - I don't have it so I can't say for sure) during part of the game. At first I thought that it was blacked out.

Yes, the HD channel (726) was fine. Why the color bars appeared on the SD channel (26) remains a mystery.

There are no longer any NBA/Suns-mandated blackouts for Suns games. There are varying rules in terms of exclusivity, however:

For preseason:

- TNT is the only channel to show Suns preseason games (as far as I know).

For the regular season:

- All games on ABC are exclusive to ABC.
- Some of the Suns games on TNT are exclusive to TNT (just like Saturday's preseason game).
- The other Suns games on TNT are shared with either FSN or KUTP.
- All Suns games on ESPN are shared with either FSN or KUTP.
- Most Suns games on KUTP are exclusive to KUTP; some are shared with either ESPN or TNT.

For the playoffs:

Round 1:

- All games on ABC are exclusive to ABC.
- Any games on TNT or ESPN (or, rarely, ESPN2) are shared with either FSN or KUTP.

Round 2:

- Any games on ABC are exclusive to ABC.
- Any games on TNT are exclusive to TNT.
- Any games on ESPN are shared with either FSN or KUTP.

Round 3:

- The conference finals alternate each year between ESPN/ABC and TNT. In 2009, ESPN/ABC will have the West Finals and TNT will have the East finals. If the Suns make it to the West finals, ESPN will have as many as 4 games and ABC will have as many as 3 games. Any games on ESPN are exclusive to ESPN; any games on ABC are exclusive to ABC.

TNT does not have a broadcast partner, so they show all games in the conference finals series that they have the rights to. They have exclusive rights to each game.

One clarification...

Any Suns games shown on NBATV *are* blacked out (on NBATV) in our market. NBATV's coverage generally seems to consist of the announcers and video from one of the teams' local telecasts, mixed with NBATV's graphics and music.
