https://www.aereo.com/
This is the website that let's you stream or record live TV. Currently it is only available in New York City.
I decided to try it out. It was fairly cool, though it has glitches.
I am in Chicago, but it's easy to get around the "block."
I did the $1.00 trial.
I found at a download speed of near 5.2 Mbps (my DSL) it was way too choppy to watch. I found I was able to record and watch the recording very easily.
At my work which has a 20.0 Mbps connection, the results were fine, though I still ran into buffering errors on some channels. (Usually the subchannels offered).
The quality is very good but no where close to OTA which is to be expected.
I found the site was not working well at all in Firefox, it was missing buttons and could only record in Chrome and worked perfectly in IE (9 and 10) and Opera. In Chrome the "watch live" button and the ability to scroll through the schedule are missing. Firefox, the site was a total mess for me. All were latest versions of the browser
On an iPhone and andrioids I found choppiness and buffering issues again. But I guess the buffering and choppiness issues could be because I'm not using it right by being out of market.
Even the low qaulity feeds provided issues.
Anyone else tired this yet? How did it work for you?
