Anyone got news on 949 the sound?

Will they get jocks and will bonneville keep it?Seems like they have been on th air for a while and no jocks to speak of.I think it is a good station. They do play the occasional wow!!!Hope they don't change it.Please no alt/active hybrid they do not work!!!Modest mouse and metallica do not belong on the same station!!!

They started having the PD on the air a couple weeks ago in the afternoon around 4. And he keeps saying that there will be jocks, but they won't get in the way of the music.
And I think Bonneville has already taken over somewhat. So it looks like they'll be keeping it.

Ray explain to me how Bonneville could take over "somewhat." When you take control of a radio station, you don't take it over "somewhat." The LMA isn't supposed to happen until March, so what do you know about what's going on there?

Don't be shocked when Bonneville decides to spin these stations yet again. Their commitment to this market is in doubt.

March 1st is when Entercom gets the Bonneville stations in San Francisco. It may mean more changes in Cincinnati. 949 could go or stay. Very unstable situation there.

Bonneville's management has been in town recently. So they are meeting their new people and working toward the takeover. On paper, they haven't taken over at all. But in physical presence, they have begun to meet and decide on things. That's why I said somewhat.
Killing a radio station this new would be a bad move. It could work out to be great for them, whether they keep it or not. There's a lot of talk about it, and it's filling a void in a market that can support it if done correctly.

I would hope that Bonneville would keep The Sound on the air...It is the ONLY true Alternative in both Cincinnati and Dayton. Dayton's one true Alt-rock was The X, and if i'm not mistaken, they're an active rocker now. Anyhow, 94.9 The Sound is one of the best stations i've heard in years in terms of music and imaging, and if Bonneville does kill it off, it would probably be a mistake, seeing this station is still so new, and seeing it debuted in November of last year, just three short months ago.

I seriously doubt Bonneville will dump the Sound. They are in radio for the same reason every one else is: to make money.

My prediction for the Sound is that it will stay what it is and make WEBN existance one that is painful and not a lot of fun.
