Anyone know???

Meredith tried this with "News Radio 92" WGST and Dickey tried it with WCNN. Both flopped. Why would CC want to step into that minefield again?

I'm just sayin, I saw where they were looking for anchors in ATL "for a soon to launch 24/7 news operation"

Were these syndicated national network news or local news? I would like to see a 1010 WINS format here. give us 20 minutes we give you the world. If someone was bright, they would merge with Otis Brumby papers, and use his neighbor news as outlying bureaus with a feed to the station. So not having as high of costs having 5 Wade Medlocks running around..
 
Maybe it has something to do with their arrangement with XM Radio to provide news updates or some sort of programming to the various regional channels. CC eliminated the few All News stations they acquired over the years.
 
It could indeed have something to do with the XM/CC arrangement, which begins in late Spring/early Summer.
WGST's all news operation was a combination of local, CBS, ABC and AP Radio, with syndicated features. It was predominantly local with a large news/production staff.
WCNN's was also predominantly local.

Clear Channel will probably voice track it with news personnel based in other cities.

My understanding is that there will be six different "regional" news channels. If that's the case, my guess is the southeast channel would be based in Atlanta.
