Anyone like the morning show on Wild 94-9?

Too much music, too many commercials. Thank goodness for the podcasts. It sucks, because when you download the podcast, the actual content in the 4 hours is only a little more than an hour.

It must be tough for JV to co-exist in a format that he is forced to do.

I totally agree. I think JV's morning show should have more content!!!!!

the show is ok. but the same 10 songs played at least 3 times in 4 hours is boring.

In the early days of Top 40 this was the norm. People (kids mainly) wanted to hear the latest songs over and over again. So, it looks like KYLD is simply keeping up a tradition.

Then there was "Hot Hits" 105/KITS in the 80s which played nothing but the Top 10 or 15 hits over and over; and the first KFRC-FM (106.1) which was a continuous Top 20 countdown, except in morning drive when they simulcast Dr. Don Rose from the Big 610.

The only morning show I listened to, but should be more JV and less music and Christy and the show will be much better. JV has alot more to offer than what they are using him right now.

Been a JV fan for years with the Doghouse. I will continue to support and listen to his new show. Is it the same? No...Too much music which sucks. Definitely needs more content...

KYLD is 7th 18-34??? The Dog House was #1 18-34 for almost 8 years in a row...The only book they lost was in 1997 and it was when Howard was promoting Private Parts...The show on Wild is just like every other show now....they should have brought back the whole team..

Afraid I agree. Dumb move not to recreate the whole show.

I agree with you on that one. I think they should bring back Elvis, The street guys, Ruthie, but keep Christie, Jon, and Krystle!

I'll say it, since David E. will anyway if someone doesn't, but KSOL was kicking this kind of ass under the diary, too the last few. KDFC also did well under the book, and so has KMEL the last little while. Wild took a dump when the Dogs left, and their only hope of coming back is to rebuild the Dogs, and kick it up live the rest of the day. They also need to beef up the street again, but I doubt that the present big wigs will be able to get the money for any of this.

It would also help if JV and Elvis got along and were still friends and willing to work together. At this point, it doesn't look like it.

Also, stations don't have the money it used to have to pay a morning show. Back then in their prime, JV, Elvis and Hollywood were all making some big bucks. I can't imagine JV's two sidekicks are raking in that much currently.

But who knows what the audience wants at this time? I want to hear content for 4 hours, whereas some of the younger crowd doesn't like talk/entertainment and enjoy their music in between talk.

Even with that said, with content only a little over an hour per day in a 4 hour block, it's too little. A lot of people like myself settle for the podcasts.

Would love to see rating's that include PodCast / Online Listening #'s. I am a big fanof JV however if those #'s are correct I think he may be looking for work again.... I guess his demo is female 18-30 or something.... maybe they blow that out of the water.....

BTW: As i understand it JV and ELvis continue to talk, Yoko Lay is really to blam for this....

I know JV came back, but it is so not the same...What are his ratings like 18-34?

Ranking for 18-34 Morning Drive for August
KSOL
KDFC
KMEL
KQED
KNBR
KOIT
KYLD
KMVQ
KVTO

if those are the real numbers then PPM is clearly a flawed system

Why? Because you don't like the results? Though now that I say that...it does seem odd that KDFC would be in second place - I thought that it was doing poorly since PPM, because the younger demo doesn't listen to classical music?

Where's KCBS? I thought their audience had grown considerably since they started simulcasting with 106.9 FM.

If KVTO is actually in the top 10, I guess the Asian radio audience is larger than I would have thought. (I assume the station runs Asian programming in the morning, but I don't actually know for a fact)

As somebody said, the KSOL "twins" have been getting very good ratings for quite a few years - before PPM.

Oh, I don't know...maybe we should look at 25-54 in the morning...let's see what do we find? Hmm...let me see if I can find that growth on KCBS....(you did see that the demo ranks before were for 18-34, right?)

1 KCBS
2 KQED
3 KSOL
4 KSAN
5 KOIT
6T KNBR
6T KKSF
8 KBWF
9 KBLX
10KIOI
