Has anyone noticed that KOLA is now "Classic KOLA" and has dropped the Oldies???

'dropped the oldies'?

Oh you mean they are now a classic hits format. Yes, they've been there for maybe 5 years at least... The "oldies" like pre-'64 are pretty much all gone. They seem to center on mid-late 70s now thru late 80s

Yeah, in Socal last week and noticed the same. A couple 60's here and there, but mostly 70's to 80's. A good mix!

I don't listen that often, but the station began going to a fairly hard classic hits more than a year ago. The PPM numbers are great, too.

I love KOLA! I live in New York State, and listen to KOLA online regularly. Their morning show is great. As to the Classic Hits/Classic Rock mix: It's not a bad mix of rock. The only thing that sounded out of place once was when I heard them play The Mamas and Papas "California Dreamin'." That just didn't seem to fit with the format.

I like all their songs. But I'm very burned out on anything classic rock-ish. I could probably die happily never hearing the Eagles again......even though I own every one of their LPs.

I personally like KRTH and WCBS in terms of their approach to adding in new music, while keeping some old. They've kept their "sound." Especially on these special weekends....my God they are incredible. Whoever programmed the WCBS A to Z and KRTH Z to A should be given a special place in heaven. Who are you? Step forward and make yourself (yourselves) known!

KOLA seems too much of a repeat of KLSX and Arrow.....and KLOS which is still here.

You'd never believe it.

KRTH has gotten better, still too much repetition and limited song selection for my taste..WCBS is better, they just do an overall better presentation of their daily lineup and weekends with lots of extra songs outside of the regular spins.
Both A to Z's were fantastic! KRTH needs to do more, like "Hall of Fame" dailys and other specialties or countdowns.
