Anyone make a station with an FM transmitter?

Does anyone make a station with a Part 15 FM transmitter? I use my whole house FM transmitter for my own station I operate out of my house that covers my house and part of my backyard. I play lots of music like Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Pop Rock, Symphonic Rock, Symphonic Metal, Pop, and a small dash of country pop. No jocks of course, just automated from jango on my iphone

I'm working on "Radio Platypus 94-9". Nothing but the WORST music EVER made.

Sample Playlist:

"Touch Me I'm Sick" Mudhoney (1990) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbAbMZEt4Uw (The first song I played on this format)

"Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her hand In The Snow) Yoko Ono (1971) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swG6Rry9Tss

"You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" Jim Nabors (1975) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQsWsZxCpWY

"Dave Grohl" Wesley Willis (1996) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL3uTmuk-M0

"These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" Mrs. Miller (1967) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbAbMZEt4Uw

"Purple Haze" Dion (1969) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCi3t7Ufa2s

"Twist And Shout" Mae West (1967) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4Eol9g_TT4

"I'm Hungry" Teddy & Darrel (1966) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh4EYIPI91Y

"Yellow Submarine" Milton Berle (1970) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TQT6R1-6IE

"Fluffy" Gloria Balsam (1979) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSgMLmgs0H4

"You're So Vain" Tony Randall & Jack Klugman (1973) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09zKoHUlhDY

I'm currently up to about 500 songs and adding more every week.......

I started off on 1650 AM, but when it was taken out by lightening I rush ordered an FM transmitter to put me back on the air.
I did get the AM back on the air, and used it for a talk station for a few years.
For about 2 years (2009-2011) I operated on 99.9 FM. It was Called 99.9 The Crow. Then come August right before the 2 year B-day of the FM, it died on me and now I'm on AM only again.
Eventually I'll get another FM on the air, but that will be awhile.

The FM got about 1,000 feet out, but clear reception was limited to 500-700 feet. I used a C Crane FM Transmitter.

Its a simulcast of TalkRadioX, with a few Extra Shows I carry locally.
Its still on the air, although on a different Frequency now.
(1560 AM 95.7 FM, used to be on 1650 AM)

Do you know if it's legal to air sports talk shows, like Mike and Mike, Dan Patrick, Scott Van Pelt, and Doug Gottlieb?

Only if you receive permission from their syndication companies.
If you were to air those programs you would need a KU band dish.
(Think of those BIG 80s sat. dishes)

It's being done in Flagstaff, AZ with a Part 15 AM running Fox Sports Radio. But I also imagine the guy/gal running the station probably has more inside connections to make that happen, I don't think it's something Fox Radio does with just anybody....

Actually, FOX is real friendly with Part 15 stations.
I was one sat dish away from being a full time Fox News Affiliate.
Even though Fox News Has a DFW affiliate.

REALLY?

I always thought market clearance would be an issue (there has got to be another full power Fox affiliate somewhere in most markets, especially the majors.) But I could be wrong......

Wouldn't they also be expecting something in return?

Interesting.......

Reading further into this, they have quite a few affiliates in DFW......

Actually, surprisingly they don't ask much.
All they ask is to run their commercials and a certain amount of programming.
Everything is bartered and the equipment is free.

What would you have to give them?

Damn, Bongwater....you seem to have it out for anyone with ears..... ;D

Seriously though, that is pretty funny and a darn horrible example of music butchery.

Some on air slogans:

"The Soundtrack of Guantanamo Bay"

"Pyongyang's Listen At Work Station"

"Let the other stations have their 'mass listener appeal'. This station has mass listener suicide..."

....and now, for tonight's album feature......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxrI561jqbw

How about:

"Music for residents of the Gulag."

"No Gutter too Deep"

"Stalin, Lenin and Kruschev all agree on one station."

"Auditory Assault Radio"

Feel free to use these few. All I could come up with at this late hour. ;D

Ya Know, I just went back over that list and I realized that it was missing some very key players, namely Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. Nothing is complete without Shatner's rockin' version of "Rocket Man" or Nimoy belting out "If I Had A Hammer."
