I stopped listening as much awhile ago but recently I've noticed quite a difference in the Zone's programming - a good difference. They actually seem to be featuring a broader playlist and more new music. I'm not hearing Daughtry every 3.5 hours... or maybe I am but the variety of other songs around it make it less obvious.
I had to laugh a bit with the introduction of the "Top 7 at 7". I understand they're wanting to implement benchmarks but stealing the name and concept (though not terribly original) from sister station KNCI is ridiculous. I'd guess Mark Evans wasn't too happy about that.
Though the listener sweepers and the DJ shuffle are frustrating, I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the programming. Could it be that the new PD has been given permission to do his job, free from the restraints of corporate and BK?
