Anyone notice AAR on WARF/1350?

I sure did.

"Radio Free Ohio" WARF/1350 gave everyone a sure-fire clue as to if they will pick up any of Air America's programming after WJMP/1520's flip to FSR.

Among the AAR shows WARF aired this weekend: reruns of "Morning Sedition," Randi Rhodes and Al Franken, plus a holiday best-of Laura Flanders (sandwiched in-between a NASCAR race that was in perpetual rain delay...)

Discuss from here. I know my ears weren't failing me...

Assuming that, and you heard what you heard on WARF and not some other liberal talk station that might have taken over 1350's signal up in Avon... :)

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Al and Randi somewhere in the 1350 rotation as soon as Tuesday. Prediction: Al bumps Thom Hartmann from noon-3, and Randi takes the 6-10 hole (or part of it) when the Aeros are not on the field. I'd imagine they have to do something with Hartmann, maybe in tape delay after Lionel?

Just a guess...I Could Be Wrong(tm).

Re: Prediction for AAR on 1350

Given the reaction to ''Radio Free Ohio'' in Cleveland Scene and the Free Times after the switch, it may be just the thing 1350 needs..but word of mouth can only take you so far..

Did 1350 Add AAR/Franken Today?

So...who's on 1350 right now, Thom Hartmann or Al Franken? (I'm a few hundred miles from a tower that's normally right down the street, so I can't answer that one...)

Al Franken is in the house

1350 AAR - Al...and Randi?

> Al Franken is in the house

OK, one of my predictions came true, then.

If someone would flip by at 6:06 PM and see if Randi Rhodes is on, I'd then be two for two...

:D

Well...count yourself 2 for 2. Randi Rhodes on 1350 as we speak

Good stuff. :D

Well, to be truthful, it didn't take the proverbial rocket scientist to figure this out. Once we got past the question of whether 1350 would take AAR at all, adding Al and Randi was pretty much academic. Especially when you consider that, in Randi's case, the schedule was basically open 6-10 PM on nights when the Aeros didn't play...

Both very good moves, indeed - I also caught Al live on 1350 earlier today. But it does make me wonder if WARF could soon bump Bill Press' show for "Morning Sedition," no?

No, Not Morning Sedition...

I'm gonna go out on my prediction limb and say that the AAR weekday additions on WARF will start and end with Al and Randi. There's a small chance they squeeze in Janeane Garofolo somewhere...but I'm guessing Randi will take 6-10 in full (minus Aeros, Zips, etc.).

It basically gives her a 45 minute-ish show most of the time until the Aeros get out of the playoffs sometime in September, but as mentioned, for her fans it's better than not being heard in the market at all.

As far as Bill Press' show goes, WARF was its founding station and still the only broadcaster airing it aside from Sirius Satellite Radio. I don't think Morning Sedition bumps him. I'm thinking the only reason WARF wanted AAR was Al and Randi, and that's it...well, that, and the weekend fill of the schedule. :D

Hey Keith:

Janeane and Sam overnight on delay? They are a hit with the younger demos
in New York, and are cooly edgy enough for the overnight audience.

C'mon, Keith.....

By the way, thanks for Al and Randi!

good stuff.

BTW, now that the AAR shows have a place on 1350, what are the chances the website gets updated? at least get us a schedule...

Re: 1350am Radio Free Ohio Lineup

Hey Keith,

Does 1350 have a website up yet? If so, what's the URL?

Thanks.

Best-of “The Randi Rhodes Show” ???

> Best-of “The Randi Rhodes Show”

How does a show that consists of an alleged adult whining and crying like a baby have a "best of"?

WAAAA... mommy! Sean Hannity is a bad man! He says mean things! Make him stop! Waaaa.... Why is he so mean? Waaaaa......

They've been promoting "1350radiofreeohio.com" on the air, which used to take you to the same static logo screen as radiofreeohio.org.

Now, both URLs take you to a lineup! Well, at least the weekday one, not the extensive lineup Keith just posted. I guess he was waiting for this other shoe to drop before doing a lineup on the website. ;)

I don't know.....Rush made a pretty good name for himself continuously crying about the Clintons! To the point of complete obsession, I might add. I think he still blames Bill Clinton for his drug abuse, and Hillary for Hurricane Dennis.

And Bill O'Reilly is always whining about how Al Franken trashes him all the time.

Come on. If you had a "no whining" rule, you would eliminate all talk radio!
Edited by HHH on 07/10/05 02:42 PM.
