Anyone noticed any changes in the sound of Live 105 yet?

Demery was the smartest choice for that station. Dave Numme being a career active rock guy, and not even a great one judging from the way KUFO sounded, my fear is Live 105 slipping back into the Jay Taylor incarnation of "act-ernative". Anyone know/hear anything?.

Everyone seems to love Demery, but the station continued to have ratings challenges for his entire term. There's no reason why Live 105 can't be a dominant Bay Area station. Numme has experience working with talent and may be able to develop WTR, while fixing the music.

The music doesn't need fixing.

Then, what does need fixing? Besides ratings? They should have better ratings.

I'm kinda feeling like the problem is the format itself, not Live 105's execution of it. Maybe the Alternative format is just going the way of CHR and AOR, where they had a nice long run of success but the public simply had a change of taste and just isn't clamoring for them anymore. TV and Print have had to significantly change their content and presentation in recent years so I suppose Radio should be no different.

Something altogether new has to happen with Rock Radio. And not simply a rewrite of the rule book, but rip it up into little pieces, pour gasoline on it, burn it, take a big pee on the smoldering ashes, and then write a new one. I wish I had an idea but it's going to take somebody much smarter than I am to figure it out.

I say they should bring back Richard Sands!!!

apparently he was approached for the job, but he is pretty much done with the radio biz.....

Fixing the music? that is moronic. The thing about Demery was that he realized that that station would never be a mainstream power stick in the market largely because of it's stick issues. So instead why not superserve the core and make it interesting to those who actually were listening as opposed to trying to scare up geeric rock listeners?. You can say Numme knows how to work wit talent but if youve ever listened to KUFO he has no ability to HIRE good talent and at the end of teh day he's not of the alternative world which is what Live 105 needs. He's an active rock guy, period. You can say radio is radio but that also is part of the problem with teh format that has developed post mid 90's, so many "alternative" stations popped up that were programmed by aor guys and chr guys who never understood the demo and didnt see the music as much more than "product". hence much of the passion that alt audiences once had has been drained out of them. So dont try to sell me on how great Numme is.

We don't have to worry about Live 105. Mr. Numme is the Vice President of Alternative and Active Rock Programming for CBS Radio. 'Nuff said.

There is no problem with Live 105's signal in comparison to most of the other FM's in San Francisco.

Shawn Demewry fixed the morning dilemma at Live 105 after Howard left. That'll be his legacy. Not a bad one. A HuGe win. SoRRy, my cap FINger has taken control. Alice was winning, wrong, and then Shwon fickeds it. Argue Sir Bitches? Look at he ratings
