In the past week alone, I've heard Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the station (when I'm not tuned into 107.9 that is)... is 102.7 going Mix 94.1 on us or are they gradually changing their music for an impeding format change?

Yesterday I heard STAR play "Torn" by Natalie I. That song is from 1998. I'm not sure if these 90s songs they added are simply an "update" or the gradual start of a format evolution to Hot AC to go after MIX.

star 102.7 could become....the best of the 80's and 90's....like many of the "star" stations back in the 90's...good example was star 98.7 in L.A during the early 90's...mix 94.1 plays the odd 80's and 90's tune in an hour....

I wonder if this new change (sort to speak) in music selection is in relation to AREA 108 playing music that was once "only" played on 102.7 (deemed to "odd" to be played on Jack or Mix 94.1). Well if you're going to go through our turf (music selection), we're going to go through yours.

Even after the music update, STAR shares little music with AREA. STAR for the most part only plays big hits, while much of the gold AREA plays is known among ALT fans but never hit the pop chart.

To a P1 AREA listener, the music on STAR would be burned out and boring. To a P1 STAR listner, the music on AREA would be unfamiliar and strange.

The fact of the matter is.... Mike O'Brian must be let go. When is enough, ENOUGH? The man has ran the station into the ground and many good jocks have left because of having to take orders from an old radio has been! Star can go in whatever direction it wants, but if you have a proven loser manning the wheel, the outcome will always be the same. Be it an 80's format, Hot AC or spanish.
