Anyone Remember Bruce Chandler?

When I was enrolled at Columbia School of Broadcasting in Indy back in the early 80s, the guy running it was Bruce Chandler who did weekends at WFMS. Does anyone know what happened to him and also when CSB shut down?

I believe Bruce passed away a few years ago. He was a nice man.I didn't start at WFMS until a few years after he left. I remember him telling me in '99 that he bought a private utility company in Arkansas and was living out there. I'm guessing CSB shut down in the early 90's.

Bruce closed Columbia years ago. He moved to Henderson, Arkansas where he lived until his death about three years ago. He died of multiple failures.

I'm also a Columbia Grad. Proud of it too. I remember going thru one of the lessons w/ him doing the critique. He stopped the tape and said "Potatah chips, not potat-o chips. People say 'potatah'." I leaned from that simple example that radio wasn't how I said the words but how to relate them to the listener.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great man and he did a lot for me to get me started in this business. I remember him talking about Arkansas a lot. He will be missed.
