Anyone seen Cathy Orosz lately ?

I've not seen Cathy on the news the last few weeks... President GW Bush was in town, she wasn't anywhere on their "team" coverage...

Just wondering if she fell to the axe of the Channel 8 management...

Hopefully not, she's a good reporter...

But that's 8's m.o.

Their website doesn't even show the latest add on Jenny Chu, she's been there for what, 2 months now...

I don't have an answer for either questions but I did find this to be interesting... Jenny Chu has an online resume through Medialine.com and under geographic preference she has chosen the Northwestern United States (if I remember correctly). WROC obviously hired her knowing that she doesn't have interest in staying at the station for a lifetime. Maybe WROC is too lazy to write up a bio for a staff member whose name likely won't be remembered 5 years down the road? Just speculating...<P ID="signature">______________

If she was smart she would be using this time off to look for another job. One has to wonder how happy she is working for Channel 8, considering how management has treated her this past year.

Your speculation is perhaps closer to the truth. Back on March 16th I posted a message inquiring as to why Chu’s photo and biography was not included among the news staff on 8’s web site, while similar information on other recent hires was posted within a matter of days.
I also tend to agree with your observation that Chu is a short-term employee at Channel 8. (Who isn’t these days?) Judging from what you wrote, Chu’s preference is to work in another part of the country, but took the job in Rochester until something better came along. And you are correct that within a few years Chu will join the growing list of others who came and went through the revolving door at Channel 8. I’m not a betting person but I would be willing to put down some hard cash that within two to three years most of the reporters currently working at Channel 8 will be history.
As someone else wrote on this message board, the only glue holding 8 together are the two main anchors, along with the sports director and weatherman. And if things continue the way they are going, who is to say how long those people will hang around?

Saw her last night (Thursday), she was the lead story @ 6:00PM news...

Guess she didn't fall victim to the AXE...

Didn't really look that closely to see if she had a tan or not... That would mean she left this area and soaked in some much needed sun... We all need some sun around here... Hetsko, hook us up man...
