Anyone surprised David Allen Boucher is still with Magic?

I will say that I am, a bit. Especially since the station has changed so much. I've been told he runs his show out of his own house and has his own private jet. But I think that if he leaves Magic 106.7 it won't be his decision, but the radio stations. I know that Don Kelley is gone, as is Candy O'Terry.

But if he does end up leaving Magic, it would be nice if he could land at Easy 99.1. I'm surprised that station carries Delilah, she seems kind of out of place on there (although the music is locally programmed). Easy 99.1 has lately been playing a lot of songs that Magic has given up on, and a lot of their personalities have come from other stations in the area.

WPLM isn't going to pay him what Greater Media does.

That shift is normally a wasteland, who is listening to radio after 8 PM? Not a lot of people

So Greater Media has a talent that people WILL listen to at night, and if they are listening on clock radios that radio may be on the morning show when the alarm clock goes off.

IMHO that counts for something.

I did ask someone I know at GM if DAB would be the next head to roll, after they blew Candy O out of the APD chair and eventually the front door, and The Morning guy left... because GM's strategy is to start going after the younger listener, and their opinion was that DAB had sponsors that insist on being on his show (and we know how hard it is to sell night spots) so as long as he continued to have good books ( and there is no doubt he has damn good numbers) and they could sell him, he was going to be there.

( I used to love when Audrey Constant from WPLM was DAB's designated fill in BTW, she had the perfect voice and delivery, and I wish she could have kept doing both, but for personal reasons she couldn't)

Is DAB still doing other markets for Greater Media at night?

David is one of the few jocks in the market that even non-radio fans know. His name recognition rivals nearly anyone in the market, including Matty.

One anecdotal example: I was in Sacramento a few years back. I had met with someone from Boston who had little interest in radio. There was a radio on, and DAB was the jock. Immediately, the Bostonian stopped and said, "He's on the radio in Boston. He must have moved out here to California."
