will any bay area station do anything this labor day weekend? 94.9, 98.1, 99.7, 106.1 or any others?

Yes. When the DJs voice-tracked their shows, they made sure to mention "Labor Day weekend" from time to time.

.....or voice track "it's Monday" "it's hump day Wednesday" "it's finaly Friday and the weekends here"
voice tracking doesn't change because it's a holiday maybe a few more shifts join on the "tracking" in but now a days radio is so bland you can't even tell if it's live or not. The way traffic is "inserted" makes it even more difficult to tell.

Actually, its pretty easy to tell.

Live DJ: "Here's Joe Schmo with Star 101.3 Traffic."
(Followed by brief and occasionally amusing verbal interchange between jock and traffic reporter).

Compare to Voice-tracked DJ: "Now here's Star 101.3 Traffic."

What always amuses me is how the Traffic reporters try to keep up the illusion with openings like:
"There's an overturned big-rig on southbound 880, Ryan..."

As if Ryan is really there in person live at 4:30 PM in the KIOI studios.

is any station gonna do a countdown, mixes, old school, etc. for the weekend?

From That List Of Frequencies, I Am Guessing You Love Old School R&B and Hip-Hop?

KFRC will count down the Top 100 songs of Journey starting with Z all the way to A. Don't miss it.

I was making a funny comment (about the firecracker 500) but I guess that just blew up on me!
About the "A-Z countdown" I don't know about you but that just doesn't excite me anymore.

Good way to give evrybody the day off and just "Roll Tape"....and call it a day!
