AOR/Deep Tracks Stations

Are there any more AOR stations out there and if so what are they?

I’m looking for stations that play deep cuts and stuff like that. (Not those overplayed ClearChannel classic rock formats with the same ole’ junk every day.)

none here in indianapolis.when russ oasis took over WKLU around 2004 that killed AOR radio.

One time, I heard U2's Gloria on 105.5 WDHA. Not they're they're immune from overplaying some songs but once in a while, they play deep tracks.

And judging from today's playlist, they know that Boston has more songs in existence than "More than a Feeling." http://www.wdhafm.com/Last105Played.aspx

WBBB-FM 96.1 (96Rock) in Raleigh, NC plays some good classic rock mixed in with some new rock. But they could be up and down. Some Days they play better songs than other days

One classic rock station that has played some deep tracks is KLOO 106.3 in Corvallis, OR. When listened online, I heard a Rolling Stones song that was probably never played by a station with a corporate playlist. Forgot what was the song. ???

I like to evaluate a station by what they do play, and what they do not play, or won't play.

An easy way to do this to to track the station on Yes.com, but alas, WMWX does not return any results. Nor does rew.fm.

The WMWX website only lists what's been played in the last few hours. For a station that has so many 'specialty' shows, that is not really that useful.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I could not find a way to see a history of what WMWX has played over the last month or longer.

But, I guess, most stations don't want the public to know what they've been playing over a longer period of time, because that would tell you what they were really about, vs. what they claim to be about.

Only telling me what you were playing in the last 1/4 of one day doesn't give me the research I need.

If I could write the FCC Regs for radio stations, they would include having to make available online, the log for all songs played, for the last three months.

We do have a lot more specialty shows on the weekends. Weekdays are a better time to check our "Recently Played". We keep a 4 hour history. I'm not sure how to get in touch with Yes.com to complain to them why they are not carrying our lists of tunes played. No contact info on their website, that I could find. If anyone has a contact there, please pass it on. You can view our current charts at http://classxradio.com/displayPage.php?pageId=1

Speaking of North Carolina, can you all in Raleigh pick up WXRC 95.7 out of Charlotte?
They would pick up WKML in Fayetteville. And if not for that, WHPE in High Point, though I've heard Power 95.5 reaches part of the area.

And for those who don't know, WXRC "The Ride" has a local owner and plays a lot of stuff people might never have heard. They call it "progressive rock" and say it's like AOR was back when the songs were first recorded. It's not the hard stuff. They also do pop like America and some R&B like The Temptations and Marvin Gaye.
