Just came across this in the daily digest. Looks like Apex Broadcasting has won a CP for a new station in Tuscaloosa.
The tower site in the CP is the old WLXY site off Romulus Road. The frequency of 105.1 MHz is already in use as a translator for WTBC AM 1230 from the old WDBB site off Jug Factory Road.
Now if I remember correctly, Apex had several stations in Tuscaloosa at one time, but sold out to Cumulus. Could this be a reentry to the market, or just a leftover application from before the sale?
It's not a big powerful station (just 2.6 kW @ 506 feet) and it's short spaced to WAGR in Columbus, but it looks like it would at least cover Tuscaloosa proper.
