I Agree! 8100 with the XT2 is almost as good as it gets. The Prisms help, but the XT2 keeps things more consistant. Release times on the Prisms are too slow. I wouldn't put anything in front of your 8100/XT2. Set the release time all the way to fast. Check the quality of your audio before the processor. If you are using MP2 files, make sure the files are 256kb or higher bitrate. Anything lower is unacceptable and the 8100/XT2 will expose the shortcomings. And make sure your music was recorded direcet to to the audio storage system with no other audio compression (audio or data). Someone I knew used to compress all the music in cool edit pro at like 20:1 before he dumped it into the automation. Of course it sounded like crap.
