Too many good people are gone! And this after the CEO gave his "Celebration of the Company."

Anyone making a living wage is a target these days. The End Game is suck out what profit is left and leave the dead carcass behind...

From Kat's Facebook page....

Over 22 years on the same radio station - dang. And with that, my Eagle/Entercom door closed today. Looking forward to staying in touch with folks who have become family. And now, on to the next adventure...

Entercom Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA is switching their AAA "The Mountain" to an affiliate of NBC Sports Radio on August 5th.

Some interesting comments on the SacBee link. Several mentioned it would be a good move for KFBK to hire Walt for afternoon news co-anchor with Kitty, or even his own show. I think he would actually do well with a 2-hour spot. Or maybe put him on KSTE, similar to Phil Cowan's old show. I would bet on that before Walt returning to TV.

Could agree more. That would be a good pickup for KFBK. What's the chance he'll end up back at KCRA or another local news outlet?

Why does he need to come back? 20 some odd years on tv, a cup of coffee on the radio. Let's get some new blood. But then again, teaming him up on afternoons on 1530 would be the same as his morning show. One person would be giggling for no reason incessantly while the other wonders what he's doing there.

Kat, Jim Jobe, Curtiss Johnson, John Nelson, David X, Walt

Very sad!

I enjoyed Kat during M&B. She made me LMAO! I know Walt's a good man. He does a lot for the community. However, I couldn't listen to the Eagle's morning show. It was much too slow for me. I wish Kat and Walt the best of luck in their new endeavors. Both good people. It's the sad state of radio today (makes me happy to do radio just for fun).

I met John Nelson, years ago, interviewing for a part-time gig. Seemed like a pretty decent guy.

I never met Curtiss, but he's always been gracious enough to post on this board, and directly, when I've asked technical questions (M&B cutting out via satellite, and more).

I wish Curtiss, John, and everyone who were let go the best of luck. It's gotta suck to be let go in a crappy economy, especially in today's runaway automation. :(
