Appleton suspended for a day?

Can anyone add any credibility to this report?
If there is any truth to this: No way would Ray be leaving, it would definately be Patty gone before Ray is fired, would be my bet.
Probably, just a stunt for press on KMJ's part, on the eve of the new KYNO Talk start-up. Poor Gary Chase, got the same treatment as Ron Shapley. But, Ray? He's the cash cow for the station.

From Craigslist: author unknown:
"A source at KMJ/Radio City revealed today that Ray Appleton was suspended from his noontime show Thursday for one day, after engaging in a profanity-laced screaming match with general manager Patty Hixson. The vitriolic exchange concerned the firing of longtime KMJ staffer Gary Chase, a close friend of Appleton's.

The source indicated that screamed obscenities could be heard up and down the corridor from Hixson's office. Subsequently, Appleton left Hixson's office and the Radio City complex looking, in the source's words, "extremely agitated."

Appleton's absence was explained on-air as his "having some business to attend to."

The source indicated that Hixson has made alternate arrangements in the event that Appleton does not report for either his 6-9 AM shift or his noon-2 PM show. Those arrangements include rotating guest hosts for an indefinite period of time. Hixson has also reportedly been in communication with station ownership and legal advisers regarding Appleton's possible termination."
 
Sounds typical of a big shot small town talk show host who thinks he runs the city.
Seriously, did you hear his show complaining about getting a speeding ticket?
Appleton made such a big deal out of it, the police chief had to call in and address it.
 
I would like to take a moment to dispel the rumors that Ray Appleton will be joining the all-new KYNO 1300 'Live Talk Radio' on September 15 -- as our 'Secret Weapon'. While we have hired a high-profile local community leader to host our 10A-Noon local talk slot, it is not Ray. We will be making an on-air announcement on September 8th. I hope bloggers will stay tuned.

Thanks John, for the great trip back into the glory days of KYNO yesterday. It was a lot of fun hearing all the great boss jocks that passed thru the doors of KYNO back in the day, And good luck with the station in the future.

I hope your "secret weapon" is Chris Daniel. I hope you start a stream, and I hope you will call it the big 13, people will still find you.

Agreed. I was pleased to hear Imus and Dennis Miller had decent sound quality - still needs adjusting but not bad for day one. I thought this is going to be much better than that radio engineering train wreck that is 790 and 1430 ESPN, the most incompetently run radio stations I have ever heard.

Then, the dead air in the afternoon.

So - any guesses on the "secret weapon" other than Chris Daniel?
What other names are surfacing? And, the real question, is can that "weapon" gain any real ratings - keeping in mind that person(s) will have to compete for time with Limbaugh.
