I'm so glad to see this. It is refreshing to know that small town radio is alive and well, especially in the shadow of the Jax market. I've been an ND. Not an easy job but an extremely rewarding profession if you can brush aside the fact you'll never get rich.
 
How much on-air experience do these stations typically need for an ND?
 
If I was doing the hiring, I would look for at least 5 years on air experience, with at least two of those years in the trenches.
