April 1, 1979 - Happy Anniversary Y-102

30 years ago as I write this the last hours of Montavani and other "Beautiful Music" tunes were being played on 102.5 in Reading....(W)onderful (R)adio (F)or (Y)ou, WRFY.

The next day, April 1, 1979, Y-102 was born.

There have been many great people work there over the past thirty years, including the present staff. The format has evolved throughout the time. The highest share I can recall was a 23.7 share and the cume was 50% for many many books.

Happy 30th Anniversary to all who have ever been a part of Y-102.

Yes its who you think it is. THanks for starting a great radio station

A day that will live in infamy. A horrible (though successful) radio station. Shit morning show, lousy play list, and a superiority complex like few you've ever seen. I really wish Frank had been managed properly to take them down.

Sore loser! Get over it.

You're confused. I don't give a shit about terrestrial radio. I'm a satellite listener. I don't care if Y-102 beats Frank. I never listened to Frank for more than a minute at a time. I have just always felt that Y-102 was a crap station that was in first because it was the only game in town, and if a decent alternative popped up it would be a good thing.

I agree, y102 is complete shot. I can't say 1 good thing about it. Back in black, how is that guy a sore loser? I didn't know there was some kind of game or competition for him to lose. So there for no one is a sore loser.
