And to tie this into the other thread, this is why I think 93-3 may be successful. A. They weren't doing that well to begin with. And B: if they can take some of Jack's audience, some of Mix's audience They'll bound to move up from 23rd.

And Cspot- KLUV has been having 25-54 problems for a while now. A lot of the music they play is late 60's to early 70's, and that music is easily 35-40 years old now. Going by the old theory that people focus on music they grew up on, someone 18 years old in 1970 is 56 now. And as they try to mix in more late 70's or 80's stuff, they end up sounding like KZPS.

a station in the Classic Hits format should OWN this demographic or be in the top 3 to be successful, the ones who are successful DO.
you can also play some 80's stuff with the late 60's & 70's and do well, so i think their problems go beyond music.

How did morning and afternoons stack up around the area (15 -54).

@little1: I agree with you about 93-3. That said, do you think they would have a better chance of success with a local morning show? I think this P'teetong stuff is turning people off. I flip over to 93-3 after Jagger because I can't stand K Scott & G Hill on 105.3 and I have yet to hear a caller from D/FW on The Irregular Guys. ;)

As for the coveted demographic of Men 25-54 ...

A four-month snapshot:

STATION JAN. FEB. MAR. APRIL

Ticket 4.7 5.2 5.1 5.2

ESPN 3.6 3.0 2.8 3.4

Fan 1.4 1.3 1.7 1.9

@little1: I agree with you about 93-3.

Those numbers dont reflect Quality Rock, the April PPM is mostly March numbers. That was the Bone w Alexis and automation

Perhaps they shouldn't play KZPS type music. There's a lot more than that type out there. Duh

@Uncle Charlie: Cumulus needs to throw up a few billboards and a couple TV spots so people will know that The Bone is gone (Thank God)... It would be nice if they would stream their HD-2 channel as well. Is it still Energy 93-3?

93.3 is the blind leading the naked. Billboards would help, but you need a listenable product first. I feel bad for Alexis, she has talent, but surrounded by people who execute good ideas with a guillotine. No resources from Atlanta, no competent leaders.

MERGE
BONE Original Bone
BONE Humble Billy era
BONE Walton & Johnson era
BONE Gary Thompson era
BONE - Automated Bone
Quality Rock - Regular Guy era
