APRIL 2011 RATINGS. Discuss

Lite, Pro-FM, B101, EEI-FM, Bru, BZ-FM among others have good increases in cume, HJJ has a dramatic decline...
As I said last month, it appears that the WEEI-FM reduction in rating was temporary (possibly/probably a problem with the sample mix). I wanted another month to see if it was backlash to the lineup changes with WEEI-FM; but it appears not to be...
In terms of the overall numbers, not much has changed, the steady decline of PRO-AM & WHJJ may mean that talk (albiet talk that isn't soprts talk) is in a little post election lull heading into the summer and the next political season...(less than 18 months to the next Presidential)
A bigger surprise is how WSNE has fallen back to the 4.5 neighborhood after the All X-Mas spike. I have been listening a bit more lately in the office and they are playing a number of songs Pro-FM isn't for a bit of a fresher sound; but the chopped up Ryan show at times is quite disjointed. They'll run a clip of Ryan saying he'll be talking to so & so in a bit and then pretty much get a Hi Ryan from the guest, a sentence explaining why they are talking to the person and then they are off to Traffic. What was probably a 5 minute interview on Ryan's show in LA cut down to 45-60 seconds has not sounded right many times....

Glad to see 103.3 WODS getting a little higher in the ratings. I don't know how people can stand listening to that I Heart Radio programming on B101. I still cannot believe how B101 gets such a high rating, especially when WODS can be heard in most of the state, most of their DJs are local and the music selection is better. So what if it's a Boston station, it sounds much better. It seems many are just settling for whatever is on B101. Jam'n 94.5 continues to gain on Hot 106. Not surprising, as Jam'n can be heard in most of the state as well, including parts of Providence where Hot 106 reception is poor.

Coast flipping to a Jam'n or Kiss 108 simulcast would be an awesome move.
The biggest WISH on the WISH List by reading posts along with myself would be the WWKS flip to Talk (a.k.a. WPRO multicast).
