WOW, KBLX jumped from 2.3 to 2.8! The changes that Entercom has made is already paying off, while The Game stays at 0.7

Hate to ruin the enthusiasm, but Entercom's takeover won't be reflected until the first week of the May ratings, so KBLX was up under the Inner City regime.

KOSF was a big surprise...now one of SF's top 10 stations, who would have thought?

A friend at Cumulus says KOIT hit an all-time low of 7th place with women 25-54 and 10th with Adults 25-54. Not that I don't trust my friend (there's always heavy competition between them and Entercom), but can anyone confirm that?

Maybe KOIT lost listeners to KOSF.

I'm thinking they also probably picked up some displaced upper-demo former KFOG listeners. But still I'm kinda surprised -- do people really like hearing "Amercian Pie" 17 times a week? Meanwhile Kiss-FM dropped slightly and Live 105 is up? What?

I've only streamed KOSF, but they sound really good (I like them more than CC's KJR in Seattle, too rock slanted). They had a slow start but I'm glad to see they've found success with classic hits.

There are a lot of listeners to KNBR during the Giant's season. A probable reason for their upswing. The others in the top of the ratings may have gone down a bit, but it could be a little due to Baseball on on KNBR. Likely in the fall, once the Baseball season is gone, the ratings flip a little. SF is a big Baseball city.

Like KNBR in general though. Can't get KQED-FM in Sacramento though, especially since I live on the east side of the area. Their site doesn't seem to be very intuitive for radio listeners though. Just looking at it. It was hard to find the online listen link.

The only time I ever listen to KNBR is during Giants games and occasionally for a few minutes after. So, KNBR is getting my KKSF 910, KQED Radio, and KALW listening when the games are on.

Not to be a wisenheimer, but you know KQED-FM simulcasts on KQEI (89.3) in North Highlands, right? I know nothing about the physics of radio signals, but I've never had trouble tuning in KQEI when I've visited Sac.

No worries. Welcome to the conversation.

KQEI would not help KQED's ratings in SF, KQEI numbers should be reported in the Sacramento Market.

Is the only difference, the top of the hour ID?

Most pubcasters with multiple outlets outside of state public radio networks like Minnesota or Wisconsin run their IDs together at the top of the hour.

...as do KQED and KQEI. Same with commercial station simulcasts, as in "KCBS AM and HD1, and KFRC-FM and HD1, San Francisco."

95.7 Flatlined with the beginning of baseball season, stick a fork in em, there done!

Can we start the new format guesses?

How about another try at Country music, with an animal name. 95.7 has already been "The Bear," and "The Wolf." How about something with more of a backwoods flavor - "The Squirrel," for example. Or it could be one of those people-name stations like "Jack" or "Bob"...call it "Billy Ray 95.7" or "Bubba 95.7."

What passes for country music these days has been tried time and again in the Bay Area and it simply doesn't work very well. Sure, KRTY can do it, but there appears to be a big difference between Southbay music choices and the rest of the Bay Area.

I was joking around, David. I don't think anybody really thinks country music will work on a "rest of the Bay Area" based station. I'm surprised it still works in the South Bay.

Look at Alice @ 97.3.

Up to a 3.6!!! That station had been stuck in the 6+ cellar near a 2 share for the longest time. Within the last year, they have grown steadily. I suspect they have taken listenership away from KOIT on the younger end.
