Arbitrends In For Indy

Big jumps and big dips in Indy. Any ideas as to why? ??? What's been going on? 'IBC and 'TLC up, Z is down, X is up... What a roller coaster!

Looks like the other person besides me who listens to WXNT moved out of state.

Z & X are most likely just diary placements.

'TLC is is balanced by dip in sister 'HHH.

'IBC is the impressive one; maybe more people are finding their way to FM Talk.

If I want to listen to music, I usually listen to 'TTS or to my iPod. I think being in your 20s and listening to NPR or talk radio is becoming en vogue or something. Seems I end up to speaking to more and more friends that "heard the same interview," "thought that segment was hilarious," or "couldn't stand that guest." It will be interesting to see if WIBC can keep it up. Still seems like they need some work though.

WTLC has never had a rating like that in my memory (which isn't that long :p)

I'd love to see the daypart ratings on WIBC ... I'm willing to bet that Limbaugh and maybe Garrison are carrying the ratings increase by now. And I look for a post-election dropoff.

IBC has the tiger by the tail with their talent lineup. They sound great. Talk radio is where it's at now with all of the media choices one has to pick from. Rush, Garrison and Noory bring great ratings however there is still a place for a station you can count on to be really connected to the local area. I would love to see them pull Savage away fro FDM however he is likely to hot to handle for them. As Frank Zappa would say "were only in it for the money".

Since I'm not politicly correct, I won't comment on the ratings of the other top stations?

It was the best for TLC-FM that I have information for going back to Spring 2002. Previous best was 6.1 Spring 2008 Trend Part 2.

Seems to me diary placement for this 30 day period was heavier southside; otherwise you would be hard-pressed to explain ratings increases for WFDM, WCBK, and first time appearance of QMix [WRXQ] out of Columbus, Indiana. Further, a number of AMs had drop offs which might reflect south signal challenges if more diaries were placed southside.
This doesn't explain TLC-FM, but again, there could have been another diary batch that found it's way into their hot zips.
In an unweighted rolling average, diary placement can produce a much more obvious numbers "wobble" which then gets smoothed out when ARB weights the back end book.
Or, I might not know what the hell I'm talking about.... ::)
