Arbitrends

Surprisingly WXRC had some pretty good numbers. The big gains were weekends in older demos and appears to be a few people listening for a long period of time. There did not apprear to be any huge moves or standouts for positioning. The closeness of WXRC and WRFX was interesting but feel WXRC will return to their normal 2 - 3 share in the book. Does any thoughts on the Classic Hits race?

PPM will certainly make a difference in the numbers. Seems to me that Classic Hits stations that border on "oldies" (New York, Los Angeles, Dallas) all seem to be fairing well. Urban has been viewed as a problem with PPM but that does not appear to be the case. Time will tell. PPM, somewhat like the diary system, is all based on Cume and Time Spent Listening however, it is far more accurate. Arbriton is not asking people to write down how long they listened since the PPM will pick up any signal that is in range of the meter. I find it hard to rember what I listened to yesterday so am certain the recall of diary holders is even less accurate. This is going to be interesting but feel the normal market leaders will remain in place.

Looks like Majic could do well in charlotte. Hopefully the tower will be moved to Faith,NC soon. W-XRC's variety confuses me.

I also noticed Majic finally playing some more 60s music and less 80s. Sounding better than before. Hopefully this is not temporary. :)

Knowing who's at the helm, I wouldn't count on anything remaining the same!

Whoever is at the helm the station is sounding better and better. You are very correct about WXRC for I find their music to be good one minute and way out in left field the next. My wife has me turn it off for she is not into second and third cuts and has commented about the voice guy sounding like he rose from the dead. Confusing is most likely a very good was to discribe The Ride. When 94.1 makes the switch to religion I wonder if The Ride will pick up the hole in the market and run with it? Right or wrong they could easily pick up a share or two in the money demos and be hugely successful in the land of giants.
