Arbitron 25-54, 18-34 rankings for September

Congratulations to Jason & Kristen on The Bull, great show, good chemistry. Jason has a quick wit about him and Kristen plays up to that very well. and I guess the numbers reflect it.
I do wonder, however, with the Bull doing so well lately, where are they picking up their audience from, since it’s obvious by Kicks numbers it’s not taking many listeners from them? It’s a mystery to me.

That's what I've been wondering. Is the music that good right now? Someone suggested to me that maybe Taylor Swift's popularity is driving people to country; could be. I wonder whether country is that hot in other markets.

I see the big V-103 is laying out to other urbans across the nation how to properly execute the format and maintain #1 position in a PPM environment.

A little sad to see the regular guys fall so far. They have been hard to take lately between larrys amped up ranting, constant interruptions, arguing over pointless concerns and all of them being so obsessed with politics. I am as right wing as most of their listeners but leave the politics to Rush. He is much better at it and I don't want to hear it at 7am. All that said, I still listen. No better alternative.

I think it is a matter of perception... I recall growing up in north central Illinois -- any station we could listen to from Chicago was better than any local station just because it was from Chicago -- but then again Lujack, Sirott & Dearborn were better than just about anyone else.

I agree that the Regular Guys are tough to listen to these days with all the politics and ignorance on the part of Larry. How can everything be Obama's fault??? It's raining today, that must be Obama's fault....the traffic is bad...Obama strikes again..I think Larry thinks he's being funny but it's getting old. Stick to homeless karaoke and the other mildly humorous bits. That being said, I listen to 99x most of the time now...bah....

Kinda surprising that TRG can't do any better here. Every political demo and trendline I've seen shows that the Republican/Conservative brand is strongest in the Deep South and is made up of older whites. TRG should be killing here, but that's clearly not the case.

I guess their mix of tea party call-outs, porn star interviews, and advertiser segments isn't working out like they'd hoped. And now they're devoting TONS of time to the relationship between SSS and that Real Housewives chick. Yawwwwwwwwnnnn....

The problem with TRG is that they can't decide if they want to be edgy conservative--rather, libertarian--talk; that is, Boortz with a younger, fresher perspective; or what I have referred to before as Lad Mag Radio, where it's all T&A, partying war stories, pole dancing, porn stars, etc.

Most listeners want one or the other (I want the former) but not both. I could be a snob and say that the former encourages thinking with the big brain, while the latter encourages thinking with the little brain. Do they want to be FM's answer to Boortz (who has gotten stale and predictable himself), or Steve & Vikki for men?
