Arbitron Diary Confusion?

Can't help notice that in the last two monthly trends, both WMOJ and WREW (the former WMOJ three formats ago) have increased in a fairly dramatic way.

Could some new 94.9 diarykeepers think that they are listening to "Mojo" and writing THAT down in their diaries?

(For those of you unfamiliar with Arbitron practices, when an incorrect slogan is written down next to a correct frequency by a listener with a diary, the folks at Arbitron split the credit between the station with the slogan and the station with the frequency mention...so if someone wrote down "Mojo 94.9", 50% of the credit would go to WREW 94.9, and 50% would go to "Mojo" WMOJ 100.3...even though they never listened to 100.3.)

It will be interesting to see if the WMOJ increases go away once PPM arrives.

Hard to tell (so ...er what's PPM?...new callsign or owner???)

I remember 29 years ago when it way WYYS "Yes 95"...it nearly rivalled that of Q-102 when it was CHR at that time.

PPM is that new device Arbitron is rolling out to replace the diary. It detects encoded signals the station broadcasts (as well as IF emissions from some radio tuners) to give an accurate minute-by-minute monitor of actual listening by the user.

94.9 has done very well in past incarnations. Yes 95, W-Lite, Smooth Jazz and Mojo all did reasonably well. And Fox was on that frequency for a time, too.
