Arbitron market ranks across the state

It was announced today on the Atlanta board that the big A will finally hit the top 10 radio markets as ranked with Arbitron. Though Augusta gains 2,000 people 12+ they drop 3 slots to market 112. Macon gains 4,800 peopel 12+ yet drops a slot to 155. Savannah gains 6,300 people and jumps two slots to 157 (I would assume the existance of a separate Hilton Head market holds Savannah out of the top 150.) Columbus drops over 7000 people and falls 4 spots to 187. Albany drops two spots to 269 and Brunswick drops 5 spots to market 297.

Not only would the combined Hilton Head/Savannah market crack the top 150, but it would just miss the top 100.

Mkt# 217 Hilton Head = 162,300
Mkt# 157 Savannah = 263,100
Combined = 425,400

That would sandwich them between #105 Fort Wayne & (current) #106 Chattanooga.

Actually, you forgot about Valdosta, which now sits at 268, just ahead of Albany. Valdosta released its first-ever Arbitron ratings last February, with WAAC-92.9 topping the charts for Fall 2004.
