Arbitron Predictions

> Anyone want to speculate about the upcoming Monmouth-Ocean

WINNERS:
WKOE/WBHX/WWZY
WBBO/WHTG-FM
WJRZ goes up
WSJO goes up

LOSERS:
WOBM-FM goes down
WRAT goes down

OUT OF MARKET:
WWTH shows around 0.5
WCBS-FM disappears out of the book

I agree with the WBBO/WHTG being a winner. They sound really good and considering the lack of modern rock in the market they should be a default winner. (not to take anything away from them at all). Isn't WSJO in a different market and not Mon/OC? The Breeze is a crapshoot I feel. It could go either way with them.

It's hard to believe WOBM will go down. They will remain steady. I think the RAT will take another hit, considering the WBBO/WHTG competition. It will keep it's core audience, but anyone who was listening to them because there was no other option I feel probably will leave them for other stations.

WBBO/WHTG and WRAT

I personally think that a problem with both of these stations is that they play it too safe. WRAT only plays 20 odd currents (and they're missing several Top 20 hits, like Sevendust's "Ugly"). I listened to G Rock Radio on the way back from Central Jersey today and was disappointed to hear a very predictable playlist with many of the same old hits played ad nauseum. There is definitely a place for these formats in Monmouth/Ocean, but if these stations continue to avoid taking any chances, such as broadening the playlist and adding harder tracks, they will eventually lose listeners, either to satellite radio or their CD collections.

WSJO targets all 8 South Jersey counties.

WSJO doesn't target any SPECIFIC Arbitron market.

WSJO airs news, traffic, weather and commercials pertaining to Ocean County.

I have never seen SoJo in Toms River. Why would they want that station to hurt any of thier shore cluster properties?

> SoJo has been in Toms River many, many times.

I guess if they have been there and no one knew they were there, that can't be good right?

I wouldn't count one person on a radio message board comprising "no one".

Must have been out of town those weekends... plus all the M stations did their cheap promotional pennace for the almost milk company. Even if they make a little bit of noise in Ocean they can not be a player with no Monmouth signal or 50 years of history like WOBM. 92.7 will eat their lunch everytime!

And this is why they will never be a force in ANY arbitron market. Their slogan should be NOT Mon-OCEAN, NOT Atlantic City, Not Philadelphia, Not Sure Who or Where we are! SOJO 104.9 New Jersey's Misguided Station.

SoJo can be a player in Ocean County.

SoJo is one of the strongest stations here in southern Ocean County, it's right up there with WBHX, WJRZ, WCHR & WBBO!
