NEW YORK; August 21, 2006 – Arbitron Inc. (NYSE:ARB) today released the format trends report for the Spring 2006 radio survey in the 97 continuously measured markets

Country quietly extended its four year rebound in the top Arbitron markets, rising of a 9.5 share (Personas 12+) in the Spring 2006 survey from its low point of an 8.4 AQH share (Persons 12+) in Spring 2002.

Spanish formats saw the biggest gains, increasing to an 11.1 AQH share, up 13 share points from Spring 2005.

News/Talk retained its lead position with a 17.3 AQH share of Persons 12+ in the continuously measured markets, up 0.3 points over Spring 2005.

Rock, (-1.0 share points), Alternative (-0.5), Adult Contemporary (-0.5) and Oldies (-0.4) saw the biggest year over year shifts in a down direction.
