Arbitron Ratings- Fall 2008

Hello.

Does anyone know how I could get a hold of the Arbitron Ratings for the Fall of 2008, specifically the day part breakdowns for each station, for a friend of mine. My "friend" is actively looking for employment, and can't get "his" hands on the ratings for the station "he" worked for. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

In need of help

Arbitron breakdowns are only available to subscribers.
Prospective employers won't care what kind of ratings
the station "your friend" worked at got during "his"
shift, because "he" didn't have much to do with them.
Any seat-filler would have gotten the same numbers,
live, voice tracked, or just plain 'ol automation.
If "he" has a good reputation and is known in the market,
that's good enough. References can help too.

Potential employers would certainly care what the break downs are. Especially if he is applying out of market. However, if you are applying at another station chances are they are an arbitron subscriber and have done there research on you anyway. Or if they haven't they probably will if they are interested enough. Or call an old friend where you used you work, they can probably get there hands on some numbers.

Zackster, I think you're right locally. Some PD's would just go based on if they've heard of you, what they think the buzz is, etc. But if you're jumping markets, they only have ratings to go on, so they'd definitely want to see those.

Every jock in AC has worked at every cluster and still not one person knows who any of them are.

Ask people who the midday jock is on Lite Rock or TKU or ZXL they have no idea.

Serious -

Nicky G on Shark, now AYV

Mike James - Shark now Coast

Heather DeLuca - AYV no SOJO

Marlene Aqua - Lite Rock now KOOL

Dave Allen Pratt - KOOL, then CAT now KOOL

Mike Gill - JSE, 94.3, 1490 now ESPN 1450

Jackson T - AYV now KOOL

Joe Ricci - Coast now KOOL

I am aure there are more this is just off the top of my head.

Do you think ratings really matter to hire any of these people ?
