Arbitron readings

??? Are Arbitron numbers as cracked up as people lead them to be? I never fully understood the reference to them, yes I do know it's all we got, but can somebody explain the proximity of actuality......."this is how many circumcised adult males between the ages of 25-50 that get over 20 miles per gallon driving a honda between the hours of 6a-7p that enjoy milk and cookies while taking our survey from their home they've owned for over a year telling us through their land line the call letters they listen to"

Ok, a little overboard, but after my mistake of late night taco bell with a heineken I could just about say anything to make me laugh.

When you present the numbers on a sales call, do they make an impact that's worth the time looking them all up? I've seen them printed and displayed, while being explained the importance of them.....but I guess when it comes to these "so called ratings" i'm a glass is half empty type of guy. I'm hoping with my personality, once I step out of my comfort zone, i'll be able to sell goat cheese to goats. Any opinions and knowledge, with personal experience in dealing and selling the numbers would be appreciated.

LOL good point. But I never understood why television is able to pick up viewers, how many, which channels, for how long....and radio only has surveys. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to degrade it, too much.....heck, if I was the only one working with sticks I couldn't even make fire, let alone signals. I don't understand the technology put in it and it's limitations, maybe somebody who does could offer a lamens meaning to me.

Taco Bell & Heineken.....

Yuck....

How about prosciutto & Peroni....Oh yea, on the topic of ratings, this is something that 105.3 needs to look into...

Maybe I shouldn't of been the one discussing "eating habits" in earlier posts lmao! But thanks for the feedback. And the tricky thing about numbers is.....they tend to change, especially with time.
