The first time a Hispanic station made #1 12+

Wolf is tearin' it up again.
K104 is being impacted by the hispanic stations.
Kiss seems to be surging again.
WBAP owns news/talk.
KSCS needs a spark.
KLUV is gonna be HURTIN' when RC is gone.
The ticket owns sports/talk.
Jack has levelled off - does this mean they'll start screwing with it.
K-V-I-...it's a shame what's happened to radio, L!
KAYYYY, rld = "really lame dayparts"
KZPS/BONE - could it be we are all finally very tired of Stairway?
MIX: what is compelling to listen to on this station?

You are right on!!!! That about sums it up

For me the new moniker for KRLD, "Really Lame Dayparts," speaks volumes.

And nowhere do I see a mention about KLLI. How IS 105.3 doing these days?

Re: ARBITRON TREND (+ / -)

Here are the ratings ranked in terms of change since the last book. This was realy easy to put together. I simply copied and pasted it right from R&R's web page over to Excel. What I find interesting is that KPLX and KSCS both went up. You'd think one would go up and the other down.

Here we go:

+0.7 KESS-FM 5.3
+0.4 KPLX-FM 5
+0.4 KSCS-FM 3.7
+0.4 KMKI-AM 0.4
+0.3 KLNO-FM 4.4
+0.2 KTCK-AM/KTDK-FM 3.2
+0.2 KFZO-FM 1.1
+0.2 KVIL-FM 2.4
+0.2 KHKS-FM 4.6
+0.1 KTCY-FM 1.6
+0.1 KRNB-FM 1.5
+0.1 KESN-FM 1.3
+0.1 KSKY-AM 0.7
+0.1 KKDA-AM 0.5
+0.1 KSOC-FM 1.7
+0.1 KDGE-FM 3.3
0 KLTY-FM 3.5
0 KLUV-FM 3.1
0 WRR-FM 2.2
0 KLIF-AM 1.5
0 KDBN-FM 1.4
0 KTYS-FM 1.2
0 KFLC-AM 0.9
0 KAAM-AM 0.8
0 KDXX-FM 0.8
0 KFWR-FM 0.7
0 KZMP-FM 0.7
0 KHYI-FM 0.4
-0.1 KTFW-FM/KTFW-AM 0.5
-0.1 KLLI-FM 2.3
-0.1 KRLD-AM 2.1
-0.1 KDMX-FM 1.9
-0.1 KZPS-FM 1.9
-0.1 KHVN-AM 0.7
-0.2 WBAP-AM 4.4
-0.2 KJKK-FM 2.7
-0.2 KEGL-FM 1.8
-0.3 KZZA-FM 1.7
-0.4 KOAI-FM 2.5
-0.6 KKDA-FM 5
-0.6 KBFB-FM 3.8

Just remember these are just trends. What will matter is when the actual numbers come out in a few weeks. I have a feeling K104 will still be number one when it is all said and done.

Also, if "Sunny's" numbers don't improve, look for a "Mega" change to happen. I realize DFW has "Casa", but 97.1's signal is slightly better, and with the growth of Hispanic radio in the Metroplex and the success of "Mega" here in Houston, it could be on the horizon for 97.1, given the fact that people have forgotten how to program an AC station in that market.

But if Sunny did go Mega it would hurt Kiss as much as anyone. It would also help two Infinity stations:KVIL and KLUV.

Do remember that a trend is also a 12-week sample, and the same sample size as a book. It is just less weighted, as it uses pieces of sample form two different survey periods... but the base in diaries is the same.
