Arb's new widget

How much longer til the new gadget that the ratings company will use to measure a station's listenership will be the standard that is accepted? (Instead of diaries?) The new method will show that the Indy station with the most listeners is now K-Love, 101.9 FM. Bye-bye secular commercial stations.

 fr EMF winning.

Arbitron will convert Indianapolis to PPM currency with the "fall book" that begins today. I guess that means we'll see the first PPM monthly ratings releases in late October or the first week of November?

I wonder if the fact that K-Love's signal is "nuclear" hot made any difference here? I was in the car this morning and the tuner landed on 101.7 - adjacent channel to K-Love, but it tuned in clear as day there too. Didn't know they were simulcasting on the entire 101 fm band ;D

Two other factors to consider as far as the Arbs are concerned.

1. EMF never subscribes to Arb which usually means that a station doesn't show up in the ratings no matter how well it does. Such was the case with WXIR/Love 98.
2. However, Indianapolis is one of K-Love's most active & generous markets. I've heard they're considering subscribing to Arb for the Indy market alone if that's possible.

French might be right. The rest of us are turning radio off cause it sucks.
Christian music fans will be all that's left for this outdated form of communication.
Think I will listen to some good radio online now!

PPM ratings officially started September 1st. The first monthly release is October 11th.

Your tuner landed on WIKL 101.7/Elwood,IN--another K-Love signal. Transmitter is just inside Tipton County so if you are north of Indy, it should be quite listenable there.

#1 'eh? Anyway we can see a leaked copy of these Pre-Currency numbers? Or at least something more specific. That's tough to imagine.

Not necessarily so. Here's The Evansville K-Love's Arbitron ratings:

Any day that K-Love has a bigger audience than the local rap station gives me hope for the world yet.

I never cease to be amazed at the ignorance displayed on this board. Love 98 did poorly in Arbitron because it was a poorly programmed radio station. KLove shows very respectively in some markets even though they don't subscribe to Arbitron. Non-Comm KSBJ is a top 4 performer in Houston. It has nothing to do with how subscribes. That is a conspiracy theory frequently used by bad radio stations to excuse their weak programming.

In Aug. precurrency, the top five adults stations were...WJJK, WYXB, WFBQ, WFMS, WLHK. Klove was 15th.

The first "currency" month for Indianapolis will be released October 11.

Ratigs started sometime in June with PPM. Most stations have them now. They were late shipping to some.
