Arcade Fire Wins Best Album Grammy!

Does this mean that indie/alternative rock is finally a relevant genre again?

It means a lot of people think the best music is here, but that doesn't translate into the most popular music.

I'd watch sales for Arcade Fire in the next week. When "The Suburbs" was released, fans that were waiting on its release bought it and it hit number one; if it hits it again (not entirely impossible) there might be some format movement, because it'd reflect an expansion of their audience, and stations may take that as an indication that they should move in that direction. We'll see...

This is humorous and pathetic at the same time. Us music fans are laughing at the mainstream audience's ignorance. With that said, I hope this is a surge in popularity for indie/alternative rock.
