Is there a way in the FCC database or elsewhere to find initial filings for allotments? There's some older ones I'm researching and can't seem to locate when they were filed for or what party filed for them, and it'd be of interest for historical reasons.

Depending on how old it is, you can go to the FCC's EDOCS system. Search by the original community name and scour through the listings.
