Archway

Now that Archway is officially a dead company....what has become of Stinehour and her New Bern/Greenville protege's?

Tiffany Rhodes........Tori Gray......Jeff Davis

Q98 in Fayetteville is owned by Cumulus......Tiffany Rhodes went to work for Cumulus in Myrtle Beach but I was told she no longer works there........The last I heard about Tori Gray was she had left or was leaving just prior to or shortly after Archway's exit from the market.

The Archway Saga would make a great book and movie and a great manual on how to screw up a business in 10 easy steps or less. Some of the stuff that happened and the cast of heros and villians with make a great Lifetime Miniseries.A Comic Tragedy written in Crayon....

It would make a great story, but only if the truth were told and not some overspun version. If you here where these people actually are please forwrd the info.

Where is Rod LeBron these days.......last I heard he left Archway and went over to Next Media, but then left them a short time later. Does anyone know?

Benefield could be the story of 08 in Eastern NC if he wants to be.He has really been an absentee owner for a long time. Now is his time to become visible and make his mark and he's got the signals to do it.The ball is in his court....

ARCHWAY BROADCASTING was bankrolled by an investment fund designed to help minority operators finance station acquisitions more easily.

Initially, Archway was handed more than $40M dollars to make their investments in NC, AR, and GA and ultimately spent a total of $60M to include the IL acquisition and whatever capital expenditures requirements and operating shortfalls that haunted them over their 5 year reign of incompetence.

Now, what is left of Archway is being processed out of the house of the last remaining employee in Atlanta, GA and as for the $60M+ dollar investment they made in 4 markets over the last 5 years, their assets have either been sold or are under contract to sell for an approximate total of $25M dollars.

Which represents a loss of $35M dollars.

Astonishing........

what a bunch of lame dumbies! how was anyone ever so stupid to flush money away with these idiots? part of the u.s. greed in action.

I didn't see this topic, so I started a new one "I ran out of oatmeal cookies". Here is what I said. By the way, I got some new ones Saturday and when I opened up the bag and ate one fresh from the store, it tasted SO GOOD. ;D

I eat between one and five cookies each day (depending on how big they are) at supper unless I had something sweet earlier in the day. On weekends I give myself a special treat--one big oatmeal cookie each day. But in the grocery store I don't remember to buy any unless I have a coupon.

There's one other time I think of oatmeal cookies. Anytime someone mentions Archway on this board. But I get a craving for the apple oatmeal for some reason, rather than the regular oatmeal.

Naturally I have a positive image of Archway. I doubt I've ever heard any of their stations.

As I remember Jeff Davis and Gordon Herzog, former employees of Archway Broadcasting loved "Archway Cookies" too...and as best I can recall 'the bigger the better' was their motto as well...the three of you seem to have a lot in common!

Ain't it great to know that radio can be a refuge for all all kinds of folks, even "big oatmeal cookie" eating people like you!

Phew, I am glad I walked out of that one early. I saw some things that reminded me a failing business and that was enough to push me out the door and back to Palm Beach. I am just glad that so many of my co-workers were able to find work in the market after the situation started getting really bad.
