Are 20/20 Sports Updates Necessary?

Similar the the post on the NY Board, are 20/20 sports updates really necessary? It seems as if a 20/20 update means even more commercials.

Bruno's show needs to stop every 10-12 minutes it seems just for an update. Today, I got up at 6AM only to hear a sports update and then he came on close to five minutes later.

So, can we live with just each half hour a sports update or do we need to be updated on whether Milton Bradley has gone to arbitration every 20 minutes?

20 mins is good if alot of ball games is going on. But for the mid afternoon when their is nothing going on. I agree every 20 mins is too much.<P ID="signature">______________

Now that I think about it, 20/20 might be a bit much during the day. At night and during the baseball season (when games are being played during the day), it's good to have.

Depends on content, market and scheduling.

The first rule of the business is that not everyone sits through an entire morning show....even those who think Bruno is God...hate to break it to ya...the majority of the audience is in and out...just like every other program in america....therefore, with an ever changing audience, more updates, espeicailly in mid day

If you are lazy and don't rewrite the stories for every sports cast, yeah it sucks.

If you don't shift your main focus to another sport/story every 20 minutes, it sucks.

Mornings: Scores and highlights from the night before

Mid days: Start to preview the nights action, plus wrap up any major stories from overnight, including day after press conferences, trades, etc.

Nights: Live scores and highlights

The other purpose is to rescue the friggin host from the dead zone by teeing up a story he can get people to call in about

Its not brain surgery: I did it for two decades. You just have to make it interesting, informative and fast paced
