But KNAH is in a different market. KNAH's main competition was Merced Country Powerhouse, KUBB-96.3, not KATM. Heck, KUBB even beat KATM in the Merced ratings.kenrayc said:and no station wants to compete with Kat Country, look at what was KNAH 106.3 in Merced they gave up on that oneMadmansam said:Citadel's Kat Country 103 & 104.1 The Hawk are pretty strong stations. Back in the 80's, KHOP-104.1 was CHR/Top 40. KDJK-95.1 signed on the air on March 11, 1985. They were AOR. KDJK's main competition at that time was KFIV-102.3 which was AOR from about 1981-86. KDJK ruled the roost for most of the latter part of the 80's. In 1989, then CHR/Rhythmic KIZS-96.7 changed formats to Classic Rock (and calls to KVFX-96.7 The Fox). The Fox began to chip away at KDJK's ratings but it was the format change of KHOP-104.1 to AOR on November 2, 1992, that the slaughter began. Financial problems with the owners of KDJK forced them to go bankrupt and the new owners changed the format to Alternative Rock on December 2, 1994. In 1996, Citadel purchased KDJK and on April 23, 1996, KHOP's Rock format moved from 104.1 to 95.1 while 104.1 stunted with an All Elvis Format until April 29 at 6kenrayc said:Madmansam said:Citadel's Kat Country 103 & 104.1 The Hawk are pretty strong stations. Yes, I think so KHKK/KDJK do very well and always have even back in the 80s when 104.1 was KHOP, and 95.1 was KDJK.

Yes, I think so KHKK/KDJK do very well and always have even back in the 80s when 104.1 was KHOP, and 95.1 was KDJK.M then they switched to Classic Hits as "ARROW 104.1". On August 5 of that same year, KROW-104.1 became 104.1 The Hawk. The format remained the same.
