ARE NIGHTS DEAD FOR RADIO IN EASTERN NC?????

I don't think they are, but when it comes down to management and the owners it is. They don't want to spend the extra money needed to have a human there during the evening hours or overnight. But little do they realize many of them got their very start as night jocks. The forget that. Just my .02 worth which in this economy isn't worth a damn.

Bob 933 is still live at night, and on WSFL Shank does a live call in show for a couple of hours.

I don't listen to it but I guess Kiss 102 is probably still live then too.

It's simply a matter of economics Allen. It is the sad truth that the 7pm-12mid shift are either voicetracked, or filled with syndication, i.e. Lia, Cody Alan etc. I'm talking country now. I'm sure glad I was able to get into the business when I did (first full-time gig was at WFMA in Rocky Mount doing 7pm-1am) God Bless Joe Warner and Rob Lynn.

I'm another person who was blessed that i did evenings at WEED for under three years(6pm-12 Midnight) and also did overnights and evenings for WGNI for many, many years, are people listening at night?, yes they are, but radio companies
today think shows like Delilah, John Tesh, Lia, Cody Allen, and a host of others are a better service to listeners, i beg to
differ!, I have a friend who commutes back and forth from Wilmington to Whiteville five nights a week to be on live from
6 till 10pm, even though he has a good job during the day, he does this at night because he enjoys radio, if you want to
check this out go to www.coolbeach1053.com and click the "jukebox", this station is owned by the "The Padner Group LLC"
in Charlotte, and they are live from 6am until 10pm during the week, and automate most of the weekends.
