Right now 101.1 WZTK sounds DEAD!!!!!! They play very off the wall talk shows such as the poor little fellow named Allen Combs (the guy who hung on the coattails of Sean Hannity on FOX News Cable for many years). What a waste of a great signal. How about making 101.1 all Oldies with folks such as the Great Charlie Brown on air????? A good FM Oldies station is desperately needed in the Triad!!!!!!

From what I'm told 101.1 is a money machine pulling advertisers from the triad and Raleigh-Durham. When it first flipped from country and went talk I thought they were nuts. Now it looks like someone had a pretty good vision. But it would not surprise me if they put oldies on the weekend or something. The jazz thing doesn't cut it.

Good more "Good Times"! The market does need a good Classic Hits station but I certainly do not think it will be Curtis. If another station takes on the format it will most likely be one that nobody would expect.

Hey GoodTimesetc etc etc.

When did they allow you folks locked up at Butner to have access to computers and the internet? Aren't you the one who was always promoting the great oldies format on the Hilton station? While its far from perfect, lets leave WZTK alone. Talk on the FM band is an idea whose time has come.

Where is Diddohead? I miss her remarks on things like this and I know she was always an authority on the Burlington airwaves, exspecially 101. I for one would like to hear what Diddohead thinks of these latest develoopments????

Dittohead has been conspicuosly absent from the boards. Wonder what's up? You think he's a girl?

Yes, from her tart point of view, I could tell she was a 50something radio veteran. Where has she gone????????? I really am curioust?

I don't tune in to WZTK much of weekends since only a few of the smooth jazz instumentals are the kind I really like, and the vocals tend to be not my taste.

Nevertheless, when I hear something I like, I want them to keep the format. I only tune in for about 30 minutes each Saturday, and that's only because turning the radio on during an instrumental requires too much of a commitment if I'm going to figure out what the song was. A song followed by a vocal or following a vocal is much easier to identify.
