Are rhythmic leaning hot acs making a comeback?

I noticed my local hot ac has started including a lot more rhythmic tracks as of late like salt n pepper, latto, and usher. This is KC, where KZPT leaned rhythmic in the early 10s before returning to a more conventional hot ac sound in the late 10s (think train, Alanis for gold, Halsey, imagine dragons ect.) A lot of hot acs still sound like that. Are more hot acs leaning rhythmic again?

No they are just adjusting to the audience shift as time goes on based on their age demo they cover and how those tracks charted. The artists you mentioned are standard on a lot of Hot AC including KSTZ in Des Moines. KSTZ has periods of the day where it ‘sort of’ overlaps CHR.

It used to throw in classic party tracks on a couple weekend shows. Dance and hip-hop and rock from the 80s and 90s. Don’t know if they still do as I don’t listen consistently anymore.
