I’m a new XM subscriber and so far love it. I’m curious as to how some of the stations I listen to do with other listeners, compared to all XM stations and/or against Sirius stations. Is there any tracking done on the stations by either of the satellite providers or another source like Arbitron?

The other day I heard Phlash Phelps on 60s on 6 mentioning that they had 1 million listeners to their channel. He didn't base it on anything. But the stat was thrown in with the fact that XM now has more than 4 million subscribers. It would be nice to know what channels are the most-listened too. I still want my ON THE ROCKS back.

You'll need to get those statistics from Hugh Panero.

I'm also a new subscriber, so I really don't know. However, I'm wondering if they have a way to monitor what each XM radio is tuned into (by using the radio ID). This way they would know exactly how many people are tuned in to what station at any given time. Then they could make this information publically available at some point in the future.

Can't do it. Satellite radios are one-way only. The signal goes from satellite to radio but radios can't send a signal back.

XM monitors popularity by sending out surveys and monitoring its Internet streams.

If they're watching and it helps, I favor the 80s on 8, 22-Mix, and 46-Top Tracks, so I'd be the perfect Jack customer. I also listen to ABC-124 when Hannity is on.
