Are there am daytime only stations in Canada?

Considering it is dark in Canada especial in the further north you go, how does this effect AM daytime stations? Does summer mean daytime only stations are only off for 4 or 5 hours?

There have only ever been a handful of daytimers in Canada, and now there's just one - the 1510 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, which has an FM relay running 24/7 anyway.

There were never any daytimers (or, really, any stations at all) way way up north where the daylight hours are as short/long as you think. Most of Canada's population is within 100 miles of the US border, where daylight hours range from 9 hours or so this time of year to 16 hours or so in June.

The vast majority of the AM radio stations that are far enough north to have short nights in summer and long dark nights in winter are low-power relay transmitters operated by the CBC, which broadcast 24/7 along with the rest of the CBC network.
